Last Friday, Aspire had the pleasure of visiting two sports industry trade shows that are now well cemented in the UK calendar. The combined events (The Bike Show and Triathlon Show London) bring an impressive selection of top tier brands under one fairly large roof in East London (ExCel).
On, long-time client and friends of Aspire were among a few prominent footwear brands enticing the cycling and triathlon audiences. We caught up with Carlos from the UK sales team and were pleased to see lots of visitors trying on the new Cloudswift shoe – a hybrid leisure/performance running shoe for the urban dweller.
The stand was a hive of activity and it’s always great to see the ever-growing popularity and buzz surrounding the brand. On top of this, plenty of On shoes were spotted throughout the day around the exhibition centre, confirming that the brand seems to be making major strides in the UK capital among consumers and industry professionals alike.

Media Relations Lead Kate attended the Triathlon Industry Association (TIA) meeting in the afternoon, where she was able to catch up with some long-term friends of Aspire including Paul Shanley (Tri247) and Founder of the TIA, Gary Roethenbaugh.
The meeting opened with a short talk from Frazer Clifford, Event Director of The London Bike Show, which led on to a short discussion on the latest findings from the triathlon industry. The event finished with a touch of ‘speed networking’ in which attendees were able to introduce themselves to others in the room, a valuable process in which Kate was able to meet a number of new faces.
The was no shortage of impressive bike stands on show for this year – Orange, Cannondale, Cube and Ribble were just a handful in attendance. A huge range of products were on show and attendees were able to get up, close and personal with this year’s new releases. The team members on the stands were full of knowledge and all extremely helpful – It was clear that the buzz around cycling is not going anywhere.
With a constant crowd of visitors and a wide selection of beautifully designed bikes on show, the Canyon stand stood out for us. Now well established within the industry (across all cycling disciplines), Canyon offer something for every type of rider. We’re excited to see so many great looking products in the roster already this year.
It was great to meet the guys from Swiss Tourism, whose focus for the trade show was to promote Switzerland as a premier cycling destination. As one of the few Tourist Boards at the event this year, it was good to see them in attendance. Aspire enjoyed a coffee and one or two…swiss chocolates on their alpine looking booth. Work from one of our associate photographers Michael Blann also featured on the stand. He had recently completed a project in Switzerland, depicted by two stunning shots of the luscious green mountains, framed and displayed for everyone to enjoy.
Over the few months, we’ve got some exciting stuff lined up. Our busy schedule starts this Friday with On’s Tug-O-Run event, alongside the Brighton Marathon expo. For May, our PR Manager Kate Gordon will be covering the Bespoked bike show over in Bristol, while our other Kate joins PR Strategy Nicole at Women’s Health Live on the same weekend. As well as upcoming events, Aspire also have a number of exciting announcements that are due to release during spring and early summer, so watch this space!
