Aspire – the UK’s leading PR agency specialising in the active lifestyle space – has been appointed by Britain’s walking charity, The Ramblers, following a four-way pitch process.

The brief and remit centres around new research led by the organisation focused on paths and access for all with the overall objective being to raise awareness of the charity, its purpose and its work to protect, expand and enhance the paths network.

Aspire’s strategic approach will focus on media, content creator and community relations tactics to educate, activate and amplify to a broad consumer audience, driving them to engage with the Ramblers.

Commenting on the appointment, Carol Flint, Head of Marketing, Communication and Brand, the Ramblers said: “We were very impressed by Aspire throughout the pitch process.  They challenged us on the brief in initial discussions and delivered a response that was strategic, creative and realistic within budget parameters. This, along with their expertise in the active lifestyle space, previous work for charitable organisations, and their enthusiasm and energy, gives us great confidence that we will produce great results together.”

Layla Smith, Aspire founder and managing director, added, “We are delighted to have been chosen to support the Ramblers in its campaign centring on the value of Britain’s paths network.  This is a great opportunity to drive change in the charity’s consumer-facing positioning and perception.  Not only is movement in our agency’s DNA, but we share the Ramblers’ commitment to purpose when it comes to accessibility, equity, equality, well-being and the protection of the open, outdoor spaces around us. It’s a privilege to have been selected to represent the Ramblers and lead the comms strategy for the organisation in this space.”
