This June Threshold Sports is hosting 24-hour trail running parties in both Reading and Leeds, where participants race against the clock to complete as many laps as possible

Taking place in Reading on 8th-9th June 2024 and Leeds on 29th -30th June 2024, Endure24 is a festival-style event with a difference. For run-loving friendship groups tired of the same old traditions, this 24-hour trail running party is the perfect activity to experience together this summer.

During the event, participants have one full rotation of the Earth to complete as many laps of a stunning 8km woodland course as possible. Runners can participate as soloists, pairs, or teams of up to 12, running relay-style throughout the night. Spectators are also encouraged to come along and experience the party atmosphere.

Nick Tuppen, CEO of Threshold Sports said: “Events such as Endure24 are designed to tap into the social side of Ultras. Everyone has the simple goal of completing as many laps of the 8km course as possible in 24 hours, but you can take part as a solo or in large fun teams of up to 12. To give you an idea of the atmosphere, the opening lap in Reading last year was won by a guy dressed as a nun who handed over to his team-mate dressed as Batman. When not completing laps, runners and their supporters enjoy live DJs, on-tap beer from local breweries, great food, a kids’ zone, and retailers selling the latest trail running kit. It’s a festival atmosphere that celebrates the joy of Ultras.

What’s on offer?

Entertainment:  Participants and spectators can enjoy a Live DJ at the famous Friday night party before the big event day, plus roaming DJ Trucks will pop up at different points for power hour slots around the run route. You can also expect a carnival drumming group at the start line, creating a rallying cry to countdown to the start of the event. For the younger spectators, there is a Friday night fun run for kids and a Kid’s Zone including bouncy inflatables, a colouring wall and games.

Food & Drink: There is a 24-hour café serving hot food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, festival-style street-food stalls will be on offer.  There is even a licensed pub, ‘The Runner’s Rest’.

Other activities: Runners can enjoy yoga and stretching sessions. Those joining the race in Reading can book for wild swimming and lakeside sauna sessions available at Wasing Park’s authentic Scandinavian sauna and woodland lake. For those looking to wind down, an overnight fire pit is lit at sunset to offer a spot for runners to gather with their teammates between laps.

Camping: Team camping zones give space to socialise, whilst the route-side solo runners and pairs camping zones tend to suit participants who are more focused on achieving faster running times. For anyone after more of their favourite home comforts, glamping options are available at additional cost.

First-timer Paul said:I loved it, it was special and made everyone involved feel like running VIPs.”

Over 60 first-timer Colette said: “I loved it. You don’t know how far you can go until you have to. Being part of a team and being part of the whole event, is brilliant. Our team motto was “It’s not about the pace, it’s the smile upon your face”. Heavy legs, happy heart and definitely smiling.”
