Suunto celebrate 90th anniversary with a two-year partnership with the UK’s third biggest marathon and the UK’s most diverse half marathon.
Suunto, the Finnish pioneer of sports watches and bone conduction headphones, has today been announced as the Official Timing and Headphone Partner of the Brighton Marathon Weekend and The Big Half, both organised by London Marathon Events (LME).
The partnership will cover the 2026 and 2027 editions of the two hugely popular mass participation events, beginning with the sold‑out Brighton Marathon and Brighton & Hove 10K on Sunday 12 April.
The Big Half, the UK most diverse half marathon, takes place in London this year on Sunday 6 September.
The partnership coincides with the 90th anniversary of Suunto this year.
Suunto is growing rapidly among road runners, having recently launched its lightest and most affordable watch to date — the Suunto Run, weighing just 36 grams. It’s designed to support every runner, whether they’re training for a marathon, half marathon or tackling their first 5km.
Already well established among trail runners, Suunto is also a partner of Maverick Race, organisers of the 2026 Brighton Trail Marathon, which also takes place on Sunday 12 April. This year, the two races will share a finish line, creating the UK’s first joint road‑and‑trail marathon finish.
Dan Southam, Suunto UK Marketing Manager, said: “We’re incredibly proud to partner with both the Brighton Marathon Weekend and The Big Half – two events that truly celebrate running as a force for connection, inclusion and positive change. At Suunto, our brand DNA is rooted in supporting people to explore their limits, whatever their starting point, and these community-driven events perfectly reflect those values.
“As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, this partnership feels especially meaningful as it brings together our heritage of precision and performance with two events that champion participation, diversity and togetherness. From first-time 10K runners to experienced marathon athletes, we’re excited to stand alongside these communities and help every runner enjoy their journey.”
Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events, said: “We are delighted to welcome Suunto as the Official Timing and Headphone Partner of both the Brighton Marathon Weekend and The Big Half. It’s so important when training for an event – whether it is a marathon, half marathon or 10K – that you get your training right and Suunto’s great range of products, from sports watches to headphones, will enable our participants to maximise their enjoyment as they train.”
