Nuasan Active CBD Muscle Gel
VERDICT:
I was very intrigued to try out this new product from Nuasan. I am already a massive fan of some of the products (in particular the body wipes & body wash) so when this launched, I was super excited to give it a whirl. And in fact, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I was running with the dog last month and unfortunately, we both got chased by two Deers in Bushy Park, not only was it a very scary experience but whilst trying to get away at a great speed both of my hamstrings popped resulting in me hobbling around ever since. As you can imagine this is so painful (and frustrating as I can’t run!) but I can honestly say applying the CBD Gel a couple of times a day is really helping with the pain.
Straight away in warms up your skin and offers a rapid relief of any ache and pains for a good few hours, the smell is gorgeous – its fast absorbing and non-greasy so it doesn’t stain clothes (or bed sheets) which is great as I am applying it so frequently at the moment!
At a glance: Love this stuff, doesn’t smell like some of the muscle pain gels on the market and the warming sensation is mild compared to others.
Price: £34.
Best feature: It is a gel format and non-greasy so doesn’t leave your clothes stained.
Surprising discovery: It contains hemp oil and a blend of pure plant extracts including Cinnamon, Capsicum and Peppermint
Perfect for: Downtime recovery to sooth sore and tired legs after a long run (or being chased by Deers!)
Cons: It’s a premium product at a premium price – £34 is quite expensive so use it sparingly!

Nuasan Active Body Moisturiser
VERDICT:
What is it?
One of Nuasan’s hero products, this moisturiser has been developed to soothe tired or achy muscles, hydrating the skin whilst accelerating muscle repair. Retails at £24.00.
Who is it for?
For anyone and everyone who leads an active lifestyle – from runners to walkers, gym bunnies to those on their feet most of the day and everything in between.
I was both excited and apprehensive to try this moisturiser as I am a big fan of the Nuasan body wash – from the texture to the lather, the scent to the sensation on my skin, there is nothing I don’t love about it, so the bar was set high. I’m also not one for body creams and moisturisers, mainly because I lack the time to apply, so this offered the perfect opportunity to get under the skin of one so to speak.
On first application, I was expecting the same wonderfully fresh scent of the body wash to squeeze itself out of the tube so I was, foolishly, disappointed, when that wasn’t forthcoming. I reminded myself of the ingredients and realised I had no expectation at all of what the combination of arnica and magnesium coupled macro-algae, macadamia and oat, might smell like. A surprising fragrance that was subtle but very noticeable at the same time and nothing like I’d ever smelt before. It’s very unique, almost a medicinal scent that assured you this would do you good.
The texture was really welcoming – I’m not a fan of really runny lotions and runny creams as I always feel they’re a bit lame, but the consistency of this was just perfect. Just the right level of lightweight to easily apply to legs and the soles of my feet where I really feel the aches, and as I began to massage it, it felt really lovely, creamy and thick. It seemed to change in texture and feel from application to absorption and I liked that. It sunk into my skin quickly, didn’t leave any kind of stickiness or greasiness and I could put clothes (PJs!) on quickly without worrying about those oily marks that moisturisers can often leave on clothing.
I expected it to be quite a functional product; I knew it would do good from the outside in and I genuinely felt tired legs and feet soothed and relieved, so it ticked that box in a big way. What I didn’t expect was that it was also just really nice to use and would leave skin feeling as soft and hydrated as it did, even the next morning.
- Price: £24
- Best feature: it’s changeable texture – I loved that it went from lightweight and fluid on application to thick and creamy on massaging in.
- Surprising discovery: the scent – unique, unusual, uncanny. Like nothing I’d smelt before.
- Perfect for: all-round achy, tired, sore muscles from top to toe. Soothes and hydrates as it should leaving skin feeling lovely even the next day.

Nuasan Active CBD Muscle Gel
VERDICT:
Having recently been diagnosed with Trochanteric Bursitis the arrival of Nuasan’s new Active CBD muscle gel was very welcome.
After a few weeks of rest from exercise I have started to run again, which has caused some pain to my glutes, especially in the evening so I have been using the gel to help relieve the pain. Soon after applying a small amount of the gel, which appears to be absorbed really quickly you start to feel a warm sensation deep in the muscle. Once the warmth has subsided, I can really feel my muscles relax and the soreness disappear, which makes for a comfortable night’s sleep.
Neatly packaged in a 100ml tube, this bright orange gel is easy to apply, contains max strength CBD (500mg) and smells divine thanks to the hemp oil and blend of pure plant extracts including peppermint, cinnamon and eucalyptus.
All of Nuasan’s products including the CBD muscle gel are vegan and made with natural products plus the packaging is made using recycled plastic. Thanks to this new product it feels like I can run again and manage any bursitis flair ups.

Nuasan Active Body Moisturiser
VERDICT:
I’ve been hooked on Nuasan since trying their Active Body Wash in the Summer, so I was excited to try their new Active Body Moisturiser.
After a hard circuits gym class, I applied the moisturiser after a hot shower, and the first thing I noticed was the scent. I was expecting the fragrance to be similar to the body wash, but to my surprise, it was even better! A rich, buttery scent that lasts all day, to the point I’ve had people ask me what fragrance I’m wearing.
The hero ingredients include magnesium and arnica, which are designed to combat muscle soreness, and after day one I noticed my calf muscles and shoulders were less stiff than usual. My dry elbows and legs also felt hydrated and smooth up until I used it again the next day.
As well as soothing skin and muscles from the inside out, the moisturiser is made up of 99% natural, plant-based ingredients and the packaging is made from recycled plastic. What’s not to love?
